Reporting To:  Manager – Powertrain Development

 

Job Purpose:  To provide service and development support for Powertrain Development group

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

 Work with prototype shop to develop componentsAssist with direction and completion of prototype buildsAssist with generation and maintenance of bill of materialsAssist with vehicle program service, warranty, and root cause determinationAssist with vehicle instrumentation and engineering tasks as neededWrite incident or test reports as requiredAssist with development activities as requiredProvide input to designers/engineers with respect to changes relevant to integration of components and program targetsPerform maintenance and repair to prototype vehicles.

 

 

Education and/or Experience: 



 Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word.5 + years experience working with / in machine shopASE Trade Certification or equivalent

 

 

Physical Job Requirements:

   

This position will entail a variety of physical working requirements ranging from a controlled office environment to manual labor in the shop.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad or to write, as well as talk and hear.  They are required to stand, walk or sit, reach with hands and arms, stop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.

 

The service and product development aspect of this job will include mechanical labor and ability to operate hand tools and machinery.  This position involves occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. This position may also include some travel to Europe, Asia and within the USA.
