We are proud of our accomplishments and attribute it to the contributions and commitments of each and every employee.     JOB SUMMARY The Product Application Engineer is responsible to coordinate the design and development for assigned programs and ensure that the system performance meets technical requirements. Work is performed in a fast paced environment within tight time constraints. Unusual hours and travel may be required. This is a salaried exempt position.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS   The Product Application Engineer maintains responsibility for assigned programs from inception through the end of service life.   The following job functions apply to development of new programs and changes to existing programs as assigned by the Applications Engineering Manager.   1.  Responsible for DFMEA, DFMA, DVP&R, BOM, and engineering timeline including action plans for issue resolution and product validation. 2.  Direct CAD designers in the development of details and assembly math data / drawings to ensure the design meets the program requirements. 3.  Direct Test Engineers/Technicians in the development of the Design and Process Validation Plans. 4.  Direct the manufacture, assembly and validation of prototype parts. 5.  Communicate design changes to the program team. 6.  Release drawings / math data to suppliers for the manufacture of tooling, prototypes, components and assembly aids associated with the program. 7.  Release drawings / math data to the customer that meets the individual customer’s standards. 8.  Make recommendations for improvement to the program team and the customer to continuously drive towards lower cost and increased quality within the required timing. 9.  Interface with other Development groups (Components, Materials, Process and Systems) to ensure the provision of the technologies required to support the program. 10. Lead technical contact for assigned programs.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES   1.  DVP&R, DFMEA, DFMA and BOM knowledge is required. 2.  Must contribute at a high level in a team environment. 3.  Good verbal and written communication skills. 4.  Good problem-solving and multi-tasking skills 5.  Ability to read engineering drawings. 6.  Basic understanding of the capabilities of common CAE systems (Unigraphics, SDRC I-DEAS, Catia, ABAQUS, etc.). 7.  Basic understanding of common metrology techniques used in manufacturing and laboratory environments. 8.  Good practical knowledge of Microsoft Office. 9.  Knowledge of TS16949 procedures. 10. Must have a valid driver’s license.       EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE   1.  Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical) or equivalent related experience 2.  Two to three years related business / automotive experience preferred.
