Product Support Parts and Warranty Lead

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:

 

The principle requirement of the Product Support Parts and Warranty Lead is to create and maintain a hybrid parts supply for Product Support Department, dealer network and manage the capacity, through the Supply Chain. Manage warranty claims for customers, dealer network and Product Support Dept.

 

§ Monitor and maintain high levels of control for spare parts inventory and requirements.

§ Co-ordinate activities to minimize downtime due to; parts shortages, improper planning, design/technology changes and market fluctuations.

§ Identify, lead procurement and approval to meet demand for spare parts.

§ Create and manage part level forecasts, utilizing sales and operations and marketing information.  Ensure all data management pertaining to forecasts and parts

§ Create integrated processes among Purchasing, Planning, and Dealers to execute the schedules, with a focus on improving KPI's.

§ Identify systems and tools needed to implement planning/forecasting and procurement systems.

§Maintain web based parts catalogue, parts orders  and Warranty claims.

§ Develop and communicate policies and procedures that impact the efficiency of the Product Support Department as well as compliance to regulatory requirements, to the team and to outside Dealer Network.

§  Manage and approve warranty claims for internal, customers and dealer network.

§Confirming that parts are appropriately coded so the dealership/customers can submit and complete warranty claims.

§  Maintaining an orderly workplace and inventory.

§Shipping and receiving.

§Travel across North America to AZD facilities, customers location and dealers locations.

§Other duties assigned by manager.

 

CANDIDATE MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

§ Post-secondary education in Business, Procurement, and/or Automotive Parts/Warranty Management.

§ 3-5 plus years experience in the parts/warrant or management of automotive industry. 

§ Must be detail oriented and must be able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

§ Must be capable of working in a team-oriented environment.

§ Comprehensive knowledge of vendor management, capacity management and supply chain, knowledge of automotive parts. (Ability to read drawings and schematics).

§ Strong analytical skills and business acumen to develop sound business plans, identify issues and create solutions.

§ Ssolid negotiation skills.

§ Thorough knowledge of supply chain processes;

§ Knowledge of hybrid vehicle technology;

§ Ability to understand contractual issues and creatively address them to minimize risk to the company. 

§ Ability to apply sound judgment to complex program/business/contractual issues.

§ Experience in warranty claims process.

§ ERP system experience

§ MS office
