The Company:

Wells is a business unit of United Components Inc. and a leading marketer/manufacturer of automotive engine management components sold in the North American aftermarket.  We have been supplying quality auto parts to the aftermarket and OEM’s since 1903!  Today we provide 33,000 part numbers to the professional mechanic.  Due to our continuous growth, our electronics engineering group has an opening for an experienced Project Engineer to develop hall effect based sensors that meet or exceed OE product.  This position reports to the VP of Electronics.

 

The Job:

In the role of Project Engineer you will design and develop automotive aftermarket sensors from conception through release-to-production. Your product development design activities, include determination of OE product performance specifications. This is a “hands-on” engineering opportunity; you will have an assigned drafter and engineering lab support. 

 

 

Job Requirements:

This position requires:

·  a Bachelor’s degree in physics or electronics preferred.

·  You must have several years of product development experience designing electronic assemblies that utilize hall effect principles.

·  Design for automotive preferred but not required

· Prefer design experience should include projects containing stamped or molded, housings and exposure to encapsulation.

·  You must be able to work within and meet project deadlines.This requires effective time management and communication skills along with strong PC skills.  Prefer exposure to TS 16949 or ISO.
