If so, you might be just who we are looking for.We seek a talented Project Manager in our Livonia/Plymouth, MI area office to lead software, hardware and systems focused multi-disciplinary teams for our Automotive electronic system applications.Will be responsible for the definition, design, development and delivery of Hardware and Software products targeted at automotive electronic systems. Must have a BS, Engineering discipline or Mathematics degree, 4+ years experience in hardware & software engineering project management, MINIMUM 2 years customer facing automotive program management (New Product Development), and MINIMUM 2 years experience working with automotive quality systems (TS16949, QS9000, ISO9000) and automotive customers. Our systems are found in most cars and trucks on the road today, within their Powertrain and chassis, body modules, complex infotainment and interior systems, and also emission controls. This new and exciting role will be responsible for:• Planning and executing customer-specific product development programs in accordance with agreed timing, cost and quality targets. • Day-to-day operational management and co-ordination of the development team(s). • Ensuring that programs are executed in accordance with internal and customer quality / process requirements. • Ensuring regular and consistent communication internally; with remote partners; and with the customer's team including Engineering, Purchasing and Quality management as appropriate. • Managing the financial performance of the program. • Coaching/Mentoring junior members of the program team(s). • Leading quote teams and generation of proposals in support of new business development.Required skills:• BS degree in Engineering or Mathematics or a related field. • 4-6 years experience in hardware and software engineering project management. • MINIMUM 2 years customer facing automotive program management (New Product Development) experience. • MINIMUM 2 years experience working with automotive quality systems (TS16949, QS9000, ISO9000) and automotive customers. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills (familiar with 5-phase/8D or equivalent process). • Financial P&L and commercial management skills (Managing the financial performance of the program). • Have excellent interpersonal / communication skills and have the ability to operate and communicate in a multi-cultural environment • Have effective presentation skills, able to operate at multiple levels including senior management. • Be able to lead, influence and motivate the program team, be a strong negotiator and be able to lead program and commercial discussions with the customer. • Have good business acumen and be able to rapidly identify and address issues and opportunities. • Be able to travel domestically and internationally as required (~10% total - one day per month domestically)). • Able to work out of our US office in the Livonia/Plymouth, MI area.
