Purchasing Positions

Purchasing – Purchasing Administration Specialist

Responsible for all purchasing administration activities relating to the Procurement and Purchasing Division. Plans, organizes, tracks, and disseminates information related to production part and transportation suppliers.

 

· Tracks, updates, and reports supplier’s part information using Excel, Access, and SAP

o  Prepares periodic summary reports for Senior Manager

§ Pricing status vs. targets, etc.

§ Supports yearly cost reduction activities

§ Monitors supplier business alignment with HMMA

· Works closely with buyers to gain access to the latest required information.

· Implements best practices related to purchasing data collection and distribution.

· Writes (seeks consensus and trains others) and implements basic policies and procedures to ensure an efficient and professional operation consistent with corporate vision

· Responsible for VAATZ database interaction.

· Accountable for NAFTA and AALA calculations.

· Prepares and monitors Procurement and Purchasing budget.

· Maintains up-to-date supply base information database.

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

High School/GED

2 year Technical Degree preferred

4 year degree or comparable background of work related experience desired

3 – 5 years job related experience preferred

Training Requirements:

Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation preferred

Purchasing – Supplier Quality Development Assistant Manager

Directs supplier quality development and improvement activity as required for all production parts.

 

· Develop, implement, and monitor supplier development activities that align with organizational strategic goals and objectives.

· Oversee and drive supplier launch activity and readiness by coordinating process audits, conducting supplier training, kaizen activity, and technical analysis and review.

· Record and maintain supplier readiness database.

· Conduct vendor audits and assessments to ensure all current and future suppliers meet HMMA requirements.

· Support commercial parts development team for all cost reduction, VE/VA, and benchmarking activities.

· Assist Quality Control for part failure analysis and problem resolution as it pertains to supplier quality.

· Implement lean manufacturing concepts to ensure highly efficient supplier plant locations.

· Lead HMMA trial activity and problem resolution to upper management.

 

Requirements / Qualifications:

· Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible quality control, quality assurance or part development experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· OEM or parts components supplier experience preferred

· Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and organizational skills.

· Long-term planning and strategy development.

· Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others required.

Education:

High School / GED

4 year degree or comparable background of work related experience.

Advanced degree desired

5 – 10 years job related experience preferred

Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):

CQE, CRE, CQA, or CQM certification preferred

Purchasing – Parts Development Specialist

Responsible for all purchasing activities relating to cost, quality and service for production parts at HMMA.

· Selects, develops and manages supply base for production parts, components and systems by:

o  Preparing RFQ’s for multi-year full production quantities

o  Negotiating long-term agreements

o  Maintaining competitive pricing

o  Leading yearly cost reduction activities

o  Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance

· Formulates and implements yearly commodity and supply base strategy

· Works closely with supplier to optimize supplier processes

· Explores available technology and implements best practices related to production suppliers

· Evaluates part designs with engineering, quality and suppliers to obtain optimum efficiencies.

· Plans, organizes, tracks and disseminates information related to production suppliers.

· Maintains up to date supply base information database

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

Three (3) years of progressively responsible supply chain experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

OEM or parts components supplier experience preferred

Education:

High School/GED

2 year Technical Degree preferred

4 year degree or comparable background of work related experience preferred

Entry level applicants accepted; 0 – 5 years experience preferred.

Training Requirements:

Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) designed preferred.
