QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER
PowerBoss is a leading manufacturer of industrial cleaning equipment, in search of a Quality Engineer to become a member of our team to develop, implement and maintain activites to accomplish the requirements of the Quality Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop, initiate, and maintain standards and procedures for the performance of Quality Assurance, Inspection, and Test functions.
• Establish controls and inspection points to facilitate detection, correction, and prevention of nonconformances in materials, parts, assemblies, and products.
• Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Assurance Program. This includes active participation in the Nonconforming material process, calibration, process, and the Corrective Action system.
• Assists the Quality Assurance Manager in the formulation, implementation, and maintenance of quality objectives.
• Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in the development, implementation, and fulfillment of the Supplier Quality Program.
• Perform statistical studies, including generation of sampling plans, for the purpose of recording, evaluating, or reporting quality and reliability information.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of advanced quality concepts such as Total Quality Management, Continuous Quality Improvement, Statistical Process Control, and Quality Function Deployment.
• Perform internal quality surveys and audits for assuring that the requirements of the Quality System are being attained.
• Perform supplier surveys and audits for assuring that they have the capability to provide products / services in accordance with requirements.
• Prepare, revise when necessary, and distribute Quality Plans and / or Inspection and Test Plans based upon the requirements of the specifications and customer orders.
• Investigate and obtain resolution to warranty claims and customer complaints when assigned by the quality manager.
• Recommends product revisions, process changes, and testing procedures to assure that quality standards are being attained.
• Assure that quality standards comply with division and departmental policies, national and international codes, and applicable safety requirements.
• Provide technical expertise in areas such as welding, metallurgy, nondestructive testing, and inspection methods.
• Travel to branch locations as requested by quality manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related technical area or related experience and/or training with a Certified Quality Engineering Certificate; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, legal documents, customer specifications, and industrial standards.
• Experience with electrical and hydraulic systems, welding / fabrication / assembly practices from a Quality Assurance perspective.
•Experience performing Quality Planning and / or Supplier Quality Assurance including the generation of Quality Plans or Inspection / Test Plans.
• A working knowledge of Metrology, Sampling / statistics, auditing, and visual inspection methods.
• A working knowledge of various Quality Systems requirements such as ISO-9001 and good quality practices.
• Ability to effectively present information; written and verbal; to management, suppliers, customers, and employees.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in mathematical, diagram, written, oral, or schedule form.
• Proficient with personal computers and software including Access, Word, Excel, and Power point.• ASQ certification (Six Sigma Black Belt) is desirable but not required
• Bilingual in English / Spanish is desirable but not required.
