Quality Assurance Manager

/ Responsible for managing and directing quality programs designed to ensure continuous improvement in operations consistent with established standards. Responsible for ISO and TS16949 internal audits. Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and/or evaluation. Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates with procedures in other disciplines. Participates in advanced quality planning and devises sampling plan procedures.1. Identifies plant quality systems improvement opportunities and manages the required change2. Develops and implements a statistically based overall plant program of auditing and process control procedures, within Corporate and Group guidelines, to assure that all products, processes and quality related systems meet requirements. Has authority to stop processing or shipping any products considered to be of questionable conformance with requirements.3. Supervises and directs the activities of the Quality Assurance Department, including establishing and operating within department budget.4. Interacts with customers concerning plant certification, complaints, corrective action required from either and provides appropriate follow up.5. Analyzes plant quality costs and causes for rejects. Recommends corrective action and follow-up on quality improvement programs Bachelor's degree in engineering, metallurgy or related field preferredEight years experience in Quality Control or related field with three years at the general supervisory level. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and statistics is desirableSignificant interpersonal skills, developed leadership skills, lean manufacturing training preferred.
