Job Summary

Perform basic tasks to develop, apply, and maintain quality requirements relating to the development and manufacture of deliverable products. Coordinate & manage failure analysis activities and corrective actions.  This position will be tasked to improve supplier development and provide QA support to customers.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in the development of quality plans, implement established methods for new and existing products for inspection and test procedures
• Identify, investigate and resolve problems with parts, assemblies or material.
• Analyze field failure reports and returns products and recommend corrective action.
• Identify root cause and modes of failure, analyze and present results along with recommendations in a detailed and clear report to management
• Create and organize appropriate documentation and records
• Represent the Quality Department in a variety of quality improvement areas such as the cost reduction projects and the Material Review Board.
• Collect, analyze and report on quality related statistics and metrics.
• Work with cross-functional teams to improve processes and to drive product quality.



Additional Responsibilities:

• Provide coordination and technical support to management and other personnel.
• Prepare and review technical documents, reports and presentations.
• Perform internal and external quality audits as required.

Interactions:

• Responsibility crosses several inter-functional boundaries and includes external customers end-users; Engineering, who specifies the product, Purchasing who orders the parts and supplies, Manufacturing who manufactures the products, Quality who assures compliance and inter-plant manufacturing (China) who provides sub-assemblies. 

Qualifications:

• Must be US citizen or green card holder.
• BS or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of relevant hands-on failure analysis and yield improvement experience.
• Experience in writing and implementing ISO9001

• Knowledge and experience with TS16949 compliant procedures and processes preferred
• Experience with, and working knowledge of, Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and related statistical tools and techniques.  
• Knowledge of PPAP’s, FMEA, and APQP is preferred
• Knowledge of relevant statistical methods.
• Ability to interface effectively internally and externally.
• Ability to communicate quality plans and issues with all level of management and customers (e.g., formal quality presentations).
• Ability to apply various failure analysis techniques used to isolate failures down to the root cause.
• Supplier Quality experience a plus
• Capable of project management, the design and implementation of experiments/tests and problem solving in advanced technology research and development.
• Self motivated, driven personality.
• Must be a team player
