 Superior Industries is the leader in the manufacture of aluminum OEM road wheels for the automotive market.  We are currently seeking a professional to fulfill the role of Quality Manager for the Pittsburg Kansas Operation.  This position reports to the General Manager with functional responsibilities to Corporate Management and will manage a staff of 7-8 professionals.  The ideal candidate will have a career path of increasing responsibility in quality operations of a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing facility. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• As a member of the Plant Management team, formulate and maintain quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals, as well as executes corporate quality policy.
• Deploy and evaluate quality processes that validate production methods that meet customer quality standards.
• Plan and oversee the analysis, inspection, design, test and/or integration of product.
• Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, 8-D, Control Plans, SPC
• Apply problem-solving methods to reduce or eliminate defects and reduce cost of poor quality.
• Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory and industry quality codes and standards. • Implement quality training programs to all employees in conjunction with department managers.
• Investigate and communicate with customers regarding quality issues or concerns.
Required Qualifications:
• 5 years in a Quality Manager role in a manufacturing environment – preferably in the Tier 1 OEM automotive parts sector. • Experience working with major tier one customers. (BIG3 or Asian transplants)• Proven ability to work closely with plant personnel to facilitate training programs and manage quality processes in day to day operations.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Six Sigma Tools – Green Belt Certification or greater preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or ten years related experience and/or training required.
• Strong preference for bilingual ability. English / Spanish.
