SENIOR ACCOUNTING ANALYST

QUALIFICATIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSManage general accounting functions including maintenance of balance sheet and income statement accounts, the accounting close process, variance analysis, labor reporting and internal controls, liaise with the Tax Department on tax issues and related MIF input data.REQUIREMENTS: This is a key position for the Finance team. This position will fulfill the responsibilities above as well as play a key role within the Finance team. The position will help ensure that assets are safeguarded and optimized and that business risks are identified and managed. This position is responsible for the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of financial records. Perform as a integral team member to facilitate communication between the G/L consolidation area and other Finance personnel. Identify and analyze requirements for accruals and reserves in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Research accounting issues, propose and document appropriate accounting treatments. Work closely with Finance personnel to identify process improvements, internal control weaknesses, and various accounting issues. Play a significant role in the development and maintenance of accounting systems, processes, policies and internal control structure. The duties involve significant interaction with key operational management and the Information Technology department. Provide financial and business support services to all divisions regarding business models and business processes to meet new and changing business needs. Effectively drive and communicate accounting policy to the organization. Exhibit leadership in effecting organizational or system change to achieve productivity, efficiency and control improvements. Play an integral role in the Daimler Trucks North America consolidation process and for the creation of key financial statements and reporting that is to be provided to external and internal clients. Liaise with the Tax Department and participate in the derivation of information required for monthly MIF reporting to DAG. This tax information will be the responsibility of this position. Interact with external auditors related to tax information contained within MIF. Stay current regarding accounting literature, particularly related to tax related pronouncements and team with the Tax Department on implementation of these issues. Manage special assignments as they arise. Be a main player in the General Accounting team’s derivation of results data which is submitted to DAG and DNAC. Ensure proper transfer of information from the G/L into the reporting system (MIF) for DAG. Travel may be required but it will not be significant. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: BS/BA degree required (preferred in Business Administration or Accounting) plus three (3) years related experience OR a MBA (in Accounting preferred). Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with two (2) years public accounting experience preferred (exposure to manufacturing entities strongly considered). Management Information Factory experiences a plus. Candidate must possess strong analytical skills, current knowledge of GAAP and excellent leadership and communication skills. Previous system design and/or implementation experience is a significant plus. Ability identifies issues quickly and formulates presentations.Team player focused on adding value and achieving results for the Finance Team and the Company. Aptitude for working in a rapidly changing environment with need to sort out priorities. Resilient attitude and capability to bounce-back from temporary set-backs. High ethics and integrity. Strategic thinker that is one-step ahead of the issues. Strong Accounting knowledge – exposure to IFRS accounting standards is preferred. Consolidation experience a plus.
