SR. TEST ENGINEER

Tier 1 Automotive Supplier seeks highly skilled Sr. Test Engineer to help develop new programs for the Test Department.

 

JOB PURPOSE: 

   

Support team efforts to maintain, improve, and innovate test systems design, respective processes, and methods.

 

MEASUREMENT FACTORS: 

 

Timely, accurate, effective, to proper standards or procedures.

 

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS FOR TEST:

 

·         Provide support to technical resources in areas of expertise.

·         Support quality, product and manufacturing engineering, and production departments with new solutions to problems.

·         Train support personnel on the setup and operation of support equipment used to verify hardware and/or software component functionality such as: chart recorder, oscilloscope, multi-meter, etc.

·         Train respective personnel on functions necessary to setup, operate, calibrate, and maintain test equipment.

·         Lead problem solving efforts to resolve respective quality and productivity issues with test equipment.

·         Provide support to technical resources in areas of expertise.

·         Support quality, product and manufacturing engineering, and production departments with new solutions to problems.

·         Train support personnel on the setup and operation of support equipment used to verify hardware and/or software component functionality such as: chart recorder, oscilloscope, multi-meter, etc.





INNOVATE TEST EQUIPMENT:

 

 

·    Create and/or specify control systems software and hardware

·    Develop test equipment specifications

·    Develop new test methods

·    Communicate with vendors to insure capability of new equipment

·    Communicate with respective engineering groups to ensure equipment design

·    Develop electromechanical designs for equipment modification and refurbishment.

·    Develop and debug control system programming for equipment modification and refurbishment.



































JOB QUALIFICATIONS:



















·       Minimum BS degree in engineering from accredited university .

·       Experience with electromechanical systems design, trouble-shooting, and repair.

·       Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems design, trouble-shooting, and repair.

·       Experience with sequential programming

.

















SKILLS PREFERRED:



















·       Proven leadership, communication, organizational, and project management experience .

·       BS in Electrical Engineering

·       Test equipment support and PM development..

·       Test equipment calibration procedure and system development

·       Data analysis: R&R studies, correlation, SPC, problem solving

·       High level PC/VME (Visual Basic, SQL, C++, Pascal, HTML) control system programming design and debug.

·       Written/Verbal communication:  project timelines, activity tracking, and activity status .

·       Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic print creation and revision .

·       Technical training experience .

·       Lab instrument setup and operation.

·       Automated equipment trouble-shoot and repair
