SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT MANAGER withLean/Sigma Mfg and JURAN $60 K - $90K salary range

Manufacturing operation in Western North Carolina has an interesting opportunity and is searching for a SENIOR DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to manage and paraticipate in supplier development & quality improvement activities for the company's product Business Lines.  Successful candidate will evaluate & provide technical support to purchasing with a strong focus on cost to design activities and quality improvement in an international team environment.  This position works among world wide external contacts, suppliers and the company's Global purchasing organization.  Position also works internally in close co-operation with internal customers such as R&D, Quality, Manufacturing and Logistics, and reports to the Purchasing Manager.

EDUCATION:  B.A. or B.S. degree

....7 - 15 years
....Lean Manufacturing experience
....JURAN Quality Improvement Process
....Experience leading Kaizen teams & events
....Experience in public speaking, teaching & training experience, & good verbal/written communication
skills (English)

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
....Liaise with global Supplier Quality teams on behalf of this company plant
....Develop/communicate supplier related KPIs and Measurements - ensure that reporting & performance
information is readily available among stakeholders
....Identify & execute on competency improvement plans among Supplier Development staff
....Develop, monitor & controld Supplier Development budgets
....Implement Lean/Sigma programs with regard to SQA activities & participate in plant OD initiatives
....Participate in the selection of new suppliers supporting this plants business plans
....Support the Commedity Managers & Buyers during the development phase & coordinate technical links
between engineering & the plant's purchasing organization & suppliers
....Lead & recommend production processes at this plant's suppliers for the assembly/fabrication of new parts
....Develop and support activities for a common supplier base shared between plants variety of products
....You will be strongly involved during the design phase in relation with the buyers & the suppliers
....Promote early Supplier Involvment and design to cost activities
....Team with Commodity Manager & Buyers to obtain best value components for this manufacturing facility & select the appropriate processes at suppliers in relation to the design
....Coordinate preventive & corrective action between facility & suppliers
....Define quality expections to suppliers
....Team with Commodity Managers & Buyers to perform on-site assessments on new & existing suppliers
....Develop/implement Quality plans for purchased parts on new products
....Establish working relationship with Quality counterparts at key suppliers
....TRAIN suppliers in LEAN/SIGMA Manufacturing Techniques and in JURAN Quality Improvement Process
