Senior Application Analyst

The Information Systems Department is looking for an Application Analyst II Senior to join the Toyota Customer Services (TCS) team supporting Product Quality & Service (PQSS) and T3.  This individual is an experienced IT professional that makes some independent decisions regarding when to take action in order to maintain and improve applications while preventing and resolving problems and mentors the junior people on projects. He/she utilizes business and technical requirements to create well-engineered, tested and deployed business application systems and data marts.  Responsibilities include the analysis, design, development, testing, training, installation and maintenance of IS.  Solutions implemented by the Application Analyst II, Senior utilize a variety of hardware and software technologies and may include new code construction, modifications to existing modules and/or package implementation.  Incumbents apply disciplined software development processes and utilize leading edge technologies to engineer and implement their automated solutions to business problems.

Responsibilities

Applications / Business Process Knowledge

· Possess a thorough conceptual and business understanding of the processes of a broadly defined customer area including knowledge of the multiple but related software applications used to support the business environment.

· Understand the goals and objectives of the major business units that use the application(s).

· Understand and monitor appropriate key business indicators (metrics) as they may apply to enhancements to the system.

· Communicate with users and customers regarding various business functions and how they fit into the application in an easily understood manner; articulate the impact of new enhancements to the application.

Systems Management

· Participates in many phases of the systems development lifecycle with working knowledge of the systems development methodology.

Communications and Teamwork

· Consult with application development project teams to fit systems to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs.

·Participate in development and execution of a communication plan (including education) for the enterprise architecture.

·Assess (via appropriate metrics) and communicate the achievement and impact of the enterprise architecture.

 

 Required Education/Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.

· Experience in Vehicle applications is required.

· 5 to 7 years experience in business application design, development, installation and modification.

· 5 to 7 years experience in structured design, development and implementation of new computing architectures.

· Experience with Mainframe – COBOL, DB2, IMS VB, ASP, SQL, J2EE.
