General Description of Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for purchasing on New Product Launch, coordinate purchasing activities in support on New Launch programs for multiple commodities, modules and assemblies. Selects and develops sources for the supply of raw materials and components for new projects, ensuring selection complements the purchasing strategy, set timing plans and PPAP requirements. Ensure purchasing cost targets, timing requirements and technical requirements are met from the supply base. Performs supplier performance reviews utilizing the supplier evaluation tools and reports supplier performance to the program team and purchasing management as required. Participates in the quotation process to provide market prices and /or estimates for raw materials and bought in components.  Negotiates contracts, which achieve long term price reductions, quality and service objectives for new projects, ensuring contractual terms like general conditions, agreements for warranty, quality, and logistics are agreed and signed by the suppliers.  Selects and develops stampings suppliers for new projects together with other departments, ensuring purchasing strategy, cost targets, set timing plans and PPAP requirements. Identifies and realizes areas for cost savings/improvements.Where applicable, handles inquiries issued by Corporate Purchasing for the US market and respond within the requested timeline.  Sends out inquiries and obtains all relevant information (drawings, specifications, work plans) internally from the technical departments. Monitors the supply market through regular communications with the strategic buyers, visits at exhibitions and suppliers, internet and magazines.  Driving continuous improvement within the supply base.Leads the sourcing process for new programs.

Generally speaking, any automotive or aircraft mechanisms or mechanical system should be considered an applicable and synergistic component with my clients.  But my STRONG FOCUS is Seat Mechanisms and Door Systems and Engine and Transmission components. The professionals my clients seek will have an excellent theoretical grounding with more than adequate practical experience.  Depending on the candidates' skill level and interests alternate roles may be considered (Program Engineering Manager, Engineering Supervisor, Lead Engineer, Program Manager, Account Manager, Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer...).
