Senior Development Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY The Development Engineer is responsible for supporting Product Engineers and product launches from concept to production. This includes but is not limited to developing and executing test plans, leading small team of engineers and technicians, conducting tests (components & assemblies), designing simple test fixtures, resolving design concerns, maintaining appropriate records and adhering to established quality processes and procedures.  This person demonstrates characteristics that foster team progress, takes the initiative to take on challenging assignments and the ability to create opportunity where none exists. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESCoordinates the development of new customer productsCan establish test requirements, test plans for new customer productsWorks with, and/or leads Engineers and Technicians in conduct testing on components, systemsDesigns simple test fixtures using computer packagesPerforms vehicle evaluationsAssembles and disassembles test articles, transmission sub-systemsPerforms inspections on all components for wear and durabilityWrites test reports relating to the outcome of tests performed.  Special Assignments – Responsible for support and completion of special assignments as required.  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE B.S. Mechanical Engineering 4-10 years relevant powertrain experience Mechanical Aptitude/Technical background Computer experience Self-directed/self motivated.
