Reporting to an Engineering Manager or Chief EngineerEnsure the product complies with the technical specification and is capable of being manufactured. Manage the technical interface with the customer. Coach and support a team of engineers in delivering the technical objectives.Be responsible for - Quantify the critical parameters within the product design / specification.- Develop & maintain the critical parameter tree for the product - Design freeze sign off in line with customer expectations- Develop the DVP&R for product approval and track activity to the plan- Beta level validation sign off in line with customer expectations- Champion ESW and support the development of ESW to cover all our product.- Product reliability growth tracking- Lead the team through the FMEA process- Lead the design review process.- Project technical risk management ' identify risk levels and conduct appropriate activity to mitigate / eliminate risks - Ensuring product meets all safety and legal standards- Understanding the cost impact of engineering change to the product- Initiating the DFM process and conduct engineering activity resulting from this process- Ensure IP opportunities within the technical team are captured and processed.- Identify & sponsor DFSS projects as appropriate- Coach and mentor junior engineers Experience with automotive component industryExperience with diesel engines and/or turbochargersExperience with complex engineering design projects"Cummins Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Affirmative Action Employer dedicated to diversity in the workplace."Education/qualifications required Degree level *BSME required -MSME preferred Cummins is an Equal Opportunity Employer
