We are an equal opportunity employer. Key Responsibilities:The analyst leads Cummins Power Generation's (CPG) global engineering functional area finance and accounting activities:1. Month end close process - month end entries, investigate variances to plan and forecast, department expense reporting, summary level reporting to senior management.2. Forecasting - lead the global engineering forecast process3. Project accounting - develop a financial process that links the traditional general ledger/department finance reporting perspective into a project based engineering perspective4. Annual Planning - lead the engineering department and project annual planning.5. A-list support including the development of business plans and NPV/IRR analysis6. Simulation - integrate the link between business strategy and required engineering support into long term financial plans. 7. Government contract accounting, which includes preparation of the annual Incurred Cost Proposal, audit support and other government contract requirements. Skills ' Functional / Technical:1. BS in Finance / Accounting or equivalent education with MBA, CPA, or CMA desired2. Financial, Revenue and Cost Accounting, experience; working knowledge of GAAP, Government accounting experience a plus3. Engineering background or experience working with engineers3. Five plus years experience for senior financial analyst in financial-related positions of increasing responsibility.4. Quantitative Analysis: ability to understand and evaluate numerical data, tables, charts or graphs; perform calculations, make comparisons, and combine quantitative information.5. Financial Analysis: ability to gather relevant information and identify key issues/relationships; ability to relate and compare data from different sources and to identify cause-effect relationships. Experience includes project accounting, implementation of capital policies, capital investment evaluations.Skills ' Quality / Improvement:1. Software Skills with PC and client-server applications: EXCEL, ACCESS. Experience with Oracle- (or similar) based tools (e.g. Sales Analyzer), Oracle applications and End User Query Tools is desired.2. Experience working with Six Sigma improvement technologies.Skills ' Teamwork:1. Communication Skills: ability to express ideas clearly and effectively in both written and oral communications; ability to interface with all levels of management.2. Building Business Partnerships: ability to work effectively (and help other work effectively) with internal and external partners to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.Skills ' Leadership:1. Leadership and Initiative: ability to lead complex financial analysis work; self-starter and proactive; identify problems and potential solutions to management; take action to achieve goals beyond what is required.
