Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSREQUIREMENTS: •Provide manufacturing technical support in the area of tool & die, fixtures, and various manufacturing assembly processes. •Develop new manufacturing processes with respect to parts and assemblies. •Work concurrently with Product Engineering on future programs and direct die and formability development activities. •Work closely with Gastonia Parts Plant to achieve the highest supplier quality at the lowest tooling and component costs.•Coordinate the timely development of tools/dies, fixtures, manufacturing equipment, work cell layouts and methods, routings, and time standards. •Manage make/buy projects; consider outsourcing costs, freight and logistical costs.•Improve and develop manufacturing systems, evaluate and implement production equipment and process techniques to improve parts manufacturing efficiency and machine utilization. •Identify and recommend improvement opportunities in plant layouts, material flow and PMP logistics.•Perform ongoing capacity analysis on part manufacturing machine centers and PMP assembly pools. •Participate in the capital planning and budgeting for new tooling and support equipment. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related technical Engineering field is required. A minimum of 3 - 5 years manufacturing experience required. Experience in Tool & Die, Sheet metal assembly, fabrication, equipment, and fixture design preferred. Good written and verbal communication skills in English are required and some fluency in Spanish is desirable. Proficiency in PC MS software and CAD systems required. Knowledge of CATIA, AutoCAD and/or Solid Works a plus.
