Sr. Product Engineer-NVH Job Responsibilities: Within the Product Engineering - Braking Business Unit / Engineering Technologies Department / Noise, Vibration and Harness Function, responsibilities for the position of Product Engineer include utilization of noise and vibration measurement and analysis tools to evaluate and optimize vehicle braking and suspension system NVH performance. Perform relevant component tests on dynamic characteristics as well as diagnostics using noise / vibration testing benches, vehicle and laboratory methods to isolate problem cause. Interact with NVH / CAE engineering staff to propose, evaluate and recommend necessary design changes or other solutions. Conduct braking & suspension core engineering projects including investigating and developing new techniques and methodologies. Coordinate associated NVH lab maintenance, calibration and documentation for instrumentation, project, procedure and database (NVH work request, testing plan, testing data, engineering report, customer presentation, etc.) Qualifications: Minimum of four to eight plus years of automotive product engineering experience working in product development with a preferred focus on vehicle braking and suspension systems. Strong fundamental NVH knowledge of noise measurement, analysis and development. Able to utilize noise / vibration measurement equipment such as LMS, Head Acoustics, Artmis, etc. Computer literate utilizing data spreadsheets, word processing, powerpoint. Able to travel to various local Technical Centers as required. Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt certification preferred. Education: Minimum of bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Masters degree preferred.
