Position Description

Software engineering position to design and develop software for embedded transmission controls, develop PC based tools to support software development process and development "real time" PC based (Windows and Linux) transmission and vehicle simulations.  Familiarity with C, make, CAN, J1939, nonvolatile memory and PC languages such as C++, Perl, Java, UML preferred.


1.  Design and develop embedded controls software.
2.  Design and development embedded controls software development tools and process.
3.  Design and develop real time and non-real time vehicle simulations.
4.  Design and develop automated test systems.
5.  Design and develop real time software to hardware interfaces.
6.  Support use of embedded software build tools such as "make" and memory link definition files.
7.  Support software design for communication links including CAN, J1939.
8.  Prepare technical reports and proposal material.
9.  Prepare and present technical briefings.
10. Support preparation of project plans, schedules, budgets and proposals.

Position Requirements

BSEE or BSME

Required
1.  Proficient in written and spoken English and good communication skills required.
2.  Experience and/or training in either design required.
3.  Ability to interface with customers on technical activities required.
4.  Willingness to travel approximately 10% of time required.

Preferred:

1.  Experience in Control System engineering and/or test, including experience with electronic control systems in real time, embedded code preferred.
2.  Experience with a system development tool for simulation and software code development.  Examples include ETAS ASCET, MatrixX, and/or Simulink preferred.
3.  Experience with Windows PC based programming in C++, Perl, JAVA, Python preferred.
4.  Experience with XML format and tools preferred.
5.  Experience with UNIX/Linux system preferred.
6.  Experience with configuration control software such as CMSynergy and Clearcase.
