Structural Engineer

Martinrea Metal Industries Inc., located in Troy, Michigan, is a division of Martinrea International, a producer of quality metal parts.  We are currently looking for a Structural Engineer to work in our Advanced Engineering Group.

 

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

·          Conducting analytical forming studies i.e. Hydro-forming, Stamping, Hot Stamping simulations etc. on automotive metal components using FEA software(s) PAM-Stamp, LS–Dyna3D, Autoform, Dynaform and HyperMesh. 

·          Reviews product designs for formability / manufacturability with product development team and manufacturing divisions.

Additional responsibilities include the coordination of technical development activities, resolving formability concerns and the publishing of analysis/ formability reports.

 

Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with at least 3-5 years of experience in the FE Analysis of sheet metal forming / hydro-forming. Strong communication and organizational skills are also required.  Some travel may be required.
