Storeroom / Crib and Receiving Management
Material Management Services, Inc. has a fantastic opportunity for a manager who can deliver results by motivating a team and ensuring delivery of critical items on time for our client, GM Parma. This position is responsible for all daily activities related stores and receiving function. This includes providing a level of service that exceeds the client’s expectations by maintaining store inventories required to maintain service levels, supervising frontline staff both union and nonunion, handling receiving requirements connected with the purchasing function. Will also maintain positive and proactive communication and relationships with the client contacts, suppliers and team members. Responsible to collect and report relevant data as assigned.
This position is primarily a position focused on customer service and the Supervisor will be responsible for successfully meeting and exceeding client expectations and ensure the client’s perception of our worthiness to meet their objectives and provide results. This challenging position is multi-faceted, demanding and fast-paced.
Responsibilities:
-Direct the daily activities of the receiving staff according to our customer’s requirements including dock workers, towmotor drivers and tool crib attendants.
-Supervise, coordinate communication, motivate and coach MMS and GM crib employees to exceed customer expectations.
-Ensure consistent coverage of duties and seamless operations despite illness, vacations, training classes or other time away from regular duties.
-Actively participate in union grievance process and proactively communicate issues to management and customer as well as complete appropriate documentation and follow up on issues in a timely manner.
-Continuously identify areas for process improvement, research issues, make recommendations and streamline processes for more efficient and effective ways to deliver outstanding service to our customer.
-Manage timekeeping for payroll and accounting using software.
-Maintain office files and computer records to show history, price, status, etc. of all materials and transactions.
-Maintain monthly reports and comprehensive and accurate inventory records as assigned. Maintain inventory for indirect materials to meet stated goals or inventory turns and cycle counts while maintaining maintenance and facilities schedules.
-Establish positive and productive daily contact with customers. Inquire into MMS level of service and performance or problems. Investigate problems for root cause, provide solutions to the customer and feedback to the MMS TEAM.
-Promptly resolve receiving issues and billing discrepancies.
-Manage all safety issues and staff issues including training, product and system knowledge and volume consolidation.
-Maintain confidentiality regarding MMS internal communication.
-Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree preferred; continuing education and training supported.
-Related sourcing, purchasing, negotiating, ordering and expediting experience for MRO, automotive and industrial products and services as well as previous experience with inventory management and POU operations in an automotive manufacturing facility.
-Outstanding, proactive, assertive communication with client representatives, management and employees
-Previous experience supervising crib attendants, fork lift drivers and receiving clerks including scheduling hours for all shifts and timekeeping duties.
-Strong interpersonal skills, customer service skills and communication skills.
-Proven effective management skills.
