We are an equal opportunity employer. Lead the Technical Service department and coordinate all areas for which the group is responsible. The following responsibilities are either carried by the individual or led to completion by other team members* Work closely with customers to provide resolution of product/application issues via phone, fax, e-mail, site visits, etc.* Key focus on product application and specking for customers.* Assist customers with proper generator selection and application support.* Review and evaluate specifications for sizing alternators based on calculation of loads, type of loads (i.e., lighting, motors, etc), and specific site conditions.* Conduct application reviews and training at OEM's.* Provide technical support to customer service team.* Assist with launching of new products as needed.* Write Product Support Bulletins and Field Flashes to alert the field of service related issues.* Responsible for warranty return policy implementations: issue WRA, analyze returned product, issue warranty reports, determine disposition of returned product.* Report product quality issues to design and manufacturing teams. Lead initiatives to improve quality of product based upon customer reported issues.* Visit customer sites for fault-finding and problem resolution including on site repairs and corrective work.* Conduct service schools and product training classes.* Develop materials and plans for service schools and product training classes.* Review technical publications related to product service, operation, and installation.* Assist Sales and Marketing departments at various product shows and presentations.* Plan and develop improved service literature and aids in conjunction with Cummins Generator Technologies global guidelines.* Be knowledgeable of all Cummins Generator Technologies products.* Work with internal and external suppliers to assist customers as appropriate.* Support VPI process by representing the aftermarket areas on new product development teams. * Support field testing and market seed programs * BS in a technical field such as electrical or mechanical engineering.* Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred.* Minimum of 2 years experience in service, test, or repair of rotating electrical machines or generator sets.* Demonstrated understanding of generator set applications and the interaction of the alternator, controls and engine in meetings overall customer performance requirements.* Effective oral and written communication skills.* Experience in negotiating/mediating service disputes and managing corrective action.* Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.* Problem solving skills including the ability to analyze issues and use sound judgment in developing solutions.* PC knowledge and proficiency. GIEA, MAPICS, Microsoft Office Suite, Lotus Notes, etc.* Ability to manage internal service providers.* Understanding of electrical machine design concepts and factors that affect performance is a plus.* Broad knowledge of various engineering disciplines (i.e., mechanical, electrical, materials, thermodynamics, etc.) and their applicability to alternators is a plus* Willingness to be on call outside of office hours for urgent customer calls.* Willingness to travel to customer sites on short notice.* Willingness to travel up to 25% in North, South, and Central America, as well as other global destinations. * Ability to communicate effectively and to work as a committed team member.* Ability to work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds.* Ability to understand and work with the Cummins organization, decision process, and product flow."Cummins Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Affirmative Action Employer dedicated to diversity in the workplace."
