BASF is proud to be an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.Supports ECN Coatings by analyzing tote demand and provides best practice/least cost solutions in addition to monitoring performance and costs of current tote strategies on a monthly basis.  Candidate should possess strong exposure to SAP, EDW, and Cognos, and have a basic understanding of warehousing and transportation methodologies.  Incumbent will act as the liaison to 3rd party cleaners ensuring all quality and cost requirements are met.  Reports to ECN Coatings Distribution Manager.  This position is part of a job family with multiple levels and will be filled at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.A Bachelors Degree or at least 1 year of equivalent experience in a logistic discipline.  BASF recognizes Institutes of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Distribution Processes-  Implement tote related distribution process improvement projects.-Perform analyses required to measure productivity of 3rd party tote cleaners.-  Monitor 3rd party performance relative to key performance indicators.-  Identify opportunities to improve tote fleet management processes.Transportation Processes-  Assist in developing transportation improvement recommendations.-  Analyze 3rd party provider costs and service performance.-  Monitor 3rd party performance of transportation administration functions.-  Ensure that all multinational/government and compliance requirements are satisfied.Supply Chain Operations Knowledge-  Possess basic understanding of standard supply chain management tools.-    Assist in procurement, sourcing, supplier management, and market analyses.-  Identify impact of supplier management and/or manufacturing strategies on the supply chain.-  Understand BASF manufacturing process and strategies. -  Perform operations analysis using a variety of tools and identify gaps with best practices.-  Conduct analysis required to identify supplier/ tote supply chain opportunities and evaluate   alternative strategies.-  Monitor performance of tote supply chain using appropriate analytical tools.Business Applications Knowledge (SAP R3)-  Use SAP to support daily job activities.-  Use display and reporting functionality to find information outside your immediate area.-  Maintain master data with strong understanding of implications.-  Has knowledge of basic configuration settings and how they can be modified to meet   business needs. Data Analysis-  Define appropriate data analysis and proactively bring suggestions to the table.-Demonstrate expertise in identifying, monitoring, and evaluating BASF business   performance, relative to identified best practices.-  Implement performance measures.Demand Planning & Budgeting-  Understand business processes relevant to product forecasting and budgeting concepts   and how they interrelate.-  Understand unit forecasting trends and seasonality.-  Understand operational plans and monthly operating reports.-  Perform forecasting and budgeting tasks under minimal supervision.-  Collect data to be used for cost/benefit analysis.-  Recognize and communicate possible issues and risks associated with forecasts as they   relate to the management of the tote fleet.-  Understand key financial metrics and maintain tracking systems.
