We are an equal opportunity employer. The candidate will be involved with value package introduction (VPI) of genset and/or inverter controls within the Controls Development organization. The candidate will define system requirements, develop control algorithms, design, integrate, and test genset controls by working as part of a cross functional project team consisting of systems engineers, software engineers, hardware engineers, application engineers, service engineers, electronic tool developers, marketing, and end users. Other duties include working in a process and schedule driven environment, managing workload, participating in technical project reviews and peer reviews, utilizing configuration management tools, supporting the design of control harnesses and other related components that interconnect with the control system, and releasing parts/assemblies. Skills ' Functional / Technical:Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field. Minimum 3 years experience required.' Experience working with or developing real-time embedded control systems containing microcontrollers, communications (RS232, RS485, or CAN/J1939), digital and analog electronics, and interfacing sensors required.' Excellent technical writing and oral presentation skills required.' Experience developing or supporting embedded software. Knowledge of the C programming language and structured programming techniques required.' Capability and aptitude for hands on testing, troubleshooting, and problem solving required.' Experience using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools desired. ' Experience working within a structured system engineering process performing analysis, defining requirements, system-level design, system integration, developing test procedures, and conducting tests desired. ' Experience with engine control, genset control, power electronics, or power generation desired.Skills ' Quality / Improvement:' Supports continuous improvement initiatives as defined by the team.Skills ' Teamwork:' Able to work in a diverse environment, including interfacing with technicians, marketing personnel, service engineering, controls engineering and management.' Ability to demonstrate independent thinking and creative problem solving, with an emphasis for high quality.' Works well as a team player assisting other engineers whenever necessary as well as requesting and accepting help when needed.' Ability to work closely and communicate effectively with team members/customers to insure issues are resolved in a timely mannerSkills ' Leadership:' Able to manage workload and changing priorities on schedule and within existing constraints.' Knowledge and understanding of how to work with other engineering organizations to get the tasks accomplished in a timely and efficient manner.' Ability to embrace change, energize and persuade others, and strive for excellence.' Willingness to assume ownership of tasks and follow through to resolution.Travel Required (%): < 5 %Compensation: Base salary commensurate with experience plus bonus.
