Technician/Electronics/Electrical

Altair Engineering (www.Altair.com) is currently working with one of our automotive customers located in Indianapolis, Indiana, who are seeking a Technician to work on CONTRACT at their facility.

 


Required Skills/Experience:
- Requires related work experience of at least 10 years.
- Medium level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
- Highly specialized knowledge of complex mechanical and/or electrical concepts.
- Thorough knowledge of engineering math.
- Ability to read the most complex engineering drawings.
- High level of oral and written communication skills.
- High level of analytical ability where problems are complex.
- Strong computer skills.

 

**Electronics Technician working on Hybrid vehicle power electronics and powertrain development testing.

 

Electronics skill tested on site in areas of circuit analysis, schematics, PCB repair and soldering.

 

**Preference for experience in power electronics and high voltage testing.

 

** Must be willing to be trained and respond to medical emergencies in lab, including CPR, first aid and blood borne pathogen training.**


Required Education/Training:
- Two-year associate degree in mechanical or electrical field or equivalent training.

 

 

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:


- Perform the most complex and specialized mechanical and/or electrical tests on product components or series of components.
- Design and develop specialized measurements, special purpose instrumentation and/or shop or laboratory test equipment.
- Analyzes data and makes recommendations on unusual and difficult technical problems.
- Keeps records on work performed, analyzes data collected, and reports results.
- Recommends revisions to product or component design.
- Maintains good housekeeping, safety practices and supplies.
- Coordinates and exchanges findings with engineering personnel outside work group on a frequent basis.
- Presentation of test results and recommendations to customers.
