POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Territory Manager (TM) will represent all UCI business unit product lines in an assigned territory and will be responsible for selling to and servicing both new prospects and existing accounts. This position will report directly to the Area Business Manager (ABM) assigned to the specific territory covered by the TM. The TM is also expected to maintain ongoing communications with the UCI business units regarding their product line(s), policies, and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop business relationships with and actively solicit business from all Traditional Aftermarket customers in the assigned territory.Contact established customers on a regular schedule. Assist Buyer is creating stock orders.Regularly contact prospective customers to obtain new business. Maintain a current prospect list and follow-up on all inquiries and leads.Proactively sell at the jobber and installer level.Assume responsibility that all customers are aware of new programs, advertising materials, and policies.Assist customers with physical inventories when needed.Participate in all Area changeovers as directed by the ABM.Along with the ABM, continually monitor all accounts to assure compliance with their sales contract.Work with Sales Coordinator to assure that all customers are fully stocked with necessary catalogs and marketing materials.Know and understand your competition and their policies, pricing structure, distribution, strengths, and weaknesses.Work with existing customer base to train their employees on how to productively sell all UCI product lines.Work with ABM to supply Sales Coordinator with the necessary information to complete a New Business Review for new business with both existing and prospective customers.Supply necessary credit information on prospects and existing customers as directed and perform collection follow-up calls.Submit a weekly call report to the ABM.Assume responsibility to keep ABM, Business Units, and Corporate Office informed of competitive activity, effective sales programs, and customer reaction to company programs/policies.
