Job Description

 

The tool machinist reports to the Section Leader / Supervisor of the Tool room, and is responsible for programming, set-up and running CNC equipment in the tool room environment. S/he must have ability to read and edit NC data.  Progressive die experience is a plus.  This person must be able to work in a team environment and operate several pieces of equipment in a work cell as well as highly adept to working in a fast paced company.  S/he must be able to hold close tolerances and be responsible for their own quality.  While equipment is running this person will review work schedule and prepare for the next job to go on the machine.  S/he must be continuously looking for ways to improve their processes and be responsible for maintaining the equipment and all tooling for the work cell.  This individual adheres to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.

 

CRITICAL SKILLS: 

Technical:  Blueprint reading, CNC, accuracy in measurement, metal cutting practices, math & knowledge of the current quality specifications.

Interpersonal:  Communication.

Organizational:  Prioritize, follow schedule.

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Machinist Journeyman and/or 5years machining experience with CNC operation, setup, and programming.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   

S/he must have the ability to lift and move 100 lbs.
