Vehicle Lead Designer

Job Description:

Accountable for leading Vehicle Integration activities supporting Vehicle Development. The individual must have the technical capability to comprehend and maintain a vehicle level Master Model, and must understand the impact interfaces and subsystem performance have on Vehicle Level Packaging. The individual must also be able to meet specific business unit and technical publication needs in supplying CAD models or drawings at the vehicle and subsystem level. The ability to understand and interact with business unit personnel such as Product Managers and Application Engineers is key to success in this position. The individual must be able to perform Key Tasks that are currently performed by Vehicle Lead Designers that include:
--Packaging Trade Studies, to meet or define Vehicle Integration Requirements
--Creating CAD models for Product Management, Body Builders, Publications
Structure and Maintain Vehicle Master Models for a diverse product line
--Lead Virtual Design reviews

Job Qualifications:

--Expert in Unigraphics and Teamcenter Engineering
--Familiarity with tools such as Pharos, DCP, EOFF
--BS in ME, MET
--Minimum 5 years experience in vehicle design or the design of major systems (i.e., chassis)
--10 years design experience is preferred
--Excellent English communication skills (both written and oral)
--Proactively develops requirements with ITEC Vehicle Engineering and Product Centers
--Truck Product Knowledge, able to organize product structure in CAD
--Project Management
--Ability to work independently
