Intermediate and Senior Mechanical Designers – current openings — Vancouver, BC
As a Mechanical Designer in the Heavy Duty Mechanical Design group this position is responsible to design the components that allows our HPDI technology to be integrated as a single system – from brackets, piping, harnesses, fasteners etc your duties will focus on the design engineering work required to deliver the integration of fuel systems to the engine, powertrain and vehicle. You will be responsible for producing engineering design drawings and specifications, supporting base engine integration or vehicle systems, fuel systems/support equipment and supporting manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidates will possess a Mechanical Engineering degree or Technologist Diploma plus a minimum 5 plus years of relevant mechanical integration design experience in engine design, class 8 vehicle integration or industrial equipment. You have the drive to design the components that bring it all together. The successful candidates will use PRO/E as an engineering tool in the layout and modeling of sub-systems, components, and interface structures. Your challenge is to create integration component designs while considering technical, material, producibility, serviceability variables and other customer requirements.
Candidates must have hands-on experience with manufacturing design and assembly and must be proficient in 3-D modeling software applications specifically, PRO-Engineer, and PRO-cabling. Experience with vehicle layout, component design or design of mobile equipment is required. You have demonstrated capability to understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. High-pressure gas, hydraulics as well as diesel engine sub system experience is required.
Vehicle Applications Integration Engineers - Intermediate and Senior – current openings — Vancouver, BC
You will be an integral member of the Heavy-Duty Product Engineering Team and will work in direct relationship with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop and release vehicle engineering specifications. Some of your key responsibilities will be to:
· Develop vehicle design technical profiles and application guidelines
· Complete product shop order releases
· Develop vehicle system schematics and packaging requirements including specifications and designs
· Complete vehicle product issue resolution and design verification testing.
The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering as well as five years experience with Mechanical and Electrical Systems Integration in either heavy-duty vehicle, automotive or heavy industrial equipment industries. A background in the manufacturing of mechanical automotive components and demonstrated product/process quality knowledge in QS9000 or ISO/TS-16949 guidelines, including APQP and PPAP is essential. The successful candidate will have had hands-on experience with assembly and testing and must be proficient with engineering software applications including PRO-Engineer and MS office. Experience with high-pressure gas and hydraulics would be an asset.
