Vice President – Marketing

Position Summary

We are a renowned, aftermarket automotive products manufacturer and distributor and a leader within our industry. We are seeking a visionary and strategic partner who will provide strong executive marketing expertise and leadership.  Working jointly with sales, operations, manufacturing and distribution, you will be responsible for developing the company’s market strategy, leading our product innovation and promotion, managing our marketing expenditures, and implementing tactical actions to support the strategic goals improve the company’s competitive position. 

Essential Functions

o Utilize internal and external market intelligence to develop a thorough understanding of the demographics, market trends and economics driving current and future success in our industry.

o  Advise the executive team on key strategic issues and provide recommended actions to successfully address those issues.

o  Develop and define retail and e-commerce strategies to dramatically grow revenues and profits while improving product positioning and brand recognition.

o  Identify and manage all product development activities and product launches into the marketplace.

o  Lead all internal and external communications strategies and tactical activities, including sales presentation materials, editorial content, public relations, internal communications, and marketing campaigns.

o  Determine objective, market-based product portfolio, branding and pricing strategies and implement policies and processes that ensure compliance with the strategies.

o  Effectively manage all marketing material and advertising strategies and programs including POP materials, retail promotions, co-op advertising programs, and marketing campaigns.  Ensure that the company’s policies and procedures support prudent, effective use of these materials and programs to drive new customer relationships, new business and enhanced profitability.

o  Measure and report the ROI on all marketing activities.

o  Lead and develop a small group of talented professionals.

o  Direct all event and trade show activities.

Qualifications

o  Undergraduate degree in marketing, business management or finance required; MBA preferred

o  10+ years of executive consumer products experience in both emerging business environments and in $250mm+ for-profit organizations

o  Strong leadership and project management skills

o Proven track-record in brand strategy, business development, strategic advertising, sales programs, and partnership programs

o  Excellent communication skills

o  International marketing experience is desired

o  Experience in brand turnarounds and brand consolidations
