We are currently searching for a Portfolio Manager for our Alhambra Financial Center.  This position is responsible for the overall management of a designated portfolio in the Commercial Real Estate, Alhambra for ensuring proper processing of commercial real estate loan applications and/or renewals with emphasis placed on compliance with all regulations, and underwriting according to the bank’s policies and procedures.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Credit Analysis:

· Review loan packages and analyze credit information, making the preliminary assessment of an applicant’s creditworthiness.

· Spread and conduct in-depth review of balance sheet and profit and loss statements as provided with commercial loan requests.

· Analyze collateral as applicable to loan structure and terms.

· Assess business viability, quality of management, market position, and overall business climate.

· Underwrite credit memos summarizing findings.

· Prepare credit recommendations.

·  Monitor account payment performance as applicable.

 

Portfolio Maintenance:

 

· Act as liaison to Credit Administration and the Business Banking Support Center on a daily basis, working closely with Loan Assistants.

 

· Perform credit processing and support functions.  Responsibilities include review of past due reports with follow-up, tickler report, credit underwriting, loan structuring, and relationship management.

 

· Review loan documentation.

 

· Manage loan process through prefunding and transaction booking.

 

· Perform credit monitoring as applicable.

 

Production Goals:

·  Identify cross-selling opportunities by providing general information and directing prospective requests to the appropriate Account Officers.

Other Duties:

·  Participate in management projects as needed and assist in achieving the department goals and objectives.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field with a minimum of two to five years experience in commercial lending and/or related capacity.  Commercial credit training with a prior employer is a plus. Ability to independently make accurate underwriting decisions and analyze risk.  Knowledge of underwriting criteria, account profitability computation, general banking policies/procedures and management techniques.

Ability to effectively work with colleagues and on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within establish timeframes. Effective oral and written communication skills.  Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with professional and business organizations and exhibit teamwork with colleagues of related units.

Strong motivation with effective organizational and problem-solving skills.
