A challenging and dynamic opportunity currently exists in our fast-paced Corporate Headquarters in Bridgewater, NJ for an Assistant Vice President Risk Management. This position is responsible for the critical area of risk management - including heading the internal audit, compliance and security functions.
Primary Duties Include:Lead role in performing the risk management function, including risk assessment, monitoring and developing risk reduction strategies for the organization.
Internal Audit Function: preparing an annual audit plan; assessing risk and determining audit objectives, procedures and scopes for specific audit areas; performing internal audits to ensure compliance, accuracy, efficiency and minimal risk in accordance with applicable rules, regulations and standards; effectively communicating audit results to CEO, management and Supervisory Committee; ensuring implementation, monitoring, evaluating and training on risk management and internal control systems; handling fraud/theft issues, including training, monitoring, handling claims and instituting steps/procedures to mitigate future occurrences; and ensuring appropriate insurance coverage for the organization to meet regulatory requirements and minimize risk.
Compliance Officer Function: responsibility for developing and maintaining the credit union's policies and procedures and ensuring compliance; working closely with legal counsel, regulatory agencies and departments to help ensure the credit union is adhering to laws and regulations; play an integral role in product, service, feature and delivery offerings and other membership communication; and filing of regulatory requirements.
Security Officer Function: responsibility for developing and implementing a viable security program; conducting/ensuring application and system audits; updating and testing the latest Business Continuity Plan; conducting and providing monthly information for Security Oversight Committee meetings; ensuring that vendor due diligence requirements are being met for the organization; develop, administer and deliver security training programs;and maintain liaison relationship with law enforcement officers.
Job Requirements
Education:
Accounting or Finance college degree, Masters Degree and/or equivalent credentials (CPA, CIA, CISA, CFSSP, CPP, CFE), or equivalent related business experience.
Experience:Minimum 4 years experience in risk management.Minimum 2 years experience in a managerial role.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, detail-oriented, deductive reasoning and problem solving skills.Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
