Job Title: Data Analyst

RDBMS technology skills

-  Basic understanding of RDBMS technology (what “relational” means?)

-  Basic understanding of Data Model concept (PK/FK concept, DDL, data types etc.)

-  Working knowledge of SQL (UDB DB2 DML select, insert, update and delete)

-  Basic understanding of the data warehousing concepts (e.g. purpose and role of the fact tables versus dimension tables)

-  Understanding of XML and how to employ imports and exports using XML and XMI

-  Understanding and experience with ERWin modeling tool suite

 

ETL tool skills (Ab Initio)

-  Working knowledge of GDE navigation/concepts (Graphs, sandboxes, parameters, execution model, script generation, component library, etc.)

-  Working knowledge of EME concepts (Hierarchy of the EME projects, version control – check-in/checkout, conflict resolution, metadata, EME variables, dependency analysis)

-  Working knowledge of general high-volume ETL application patterns utilizing Ab Initio (transformations, joins, aggregations, etc) 

 

UNIX skills

-  Basic understanding of the UNIX shell concepts (environmental variable, session initiation, parent/child shell, process execution, daemons, etc.)

-  Basic understanding of UNIX security model (file permission, directory permission, users and groups, etc.)

-  Basic understanding of UNIX file systems, files, directories, links

-  Ability to maneuver around the directory structure, find specific files

-  Ability to use basic UNIX commands and utilities (wc, grep, cut, sort, more, cat, ps)
