TITLE: Account Associate

 

DEPARTMENT:  Account Associate Team -Account Management, Newport Beach

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

Account Associates provide the client-servicing (Account Management) group at PIMCO with customized reporting, research, and analysis with the objective of leveraging account management resources and enhancing client service.  Associates prepare detailed portfolio risk analysis, market research, performance commentary and other weekly, monthly and quarterly client reports, as well as assist with various initiatives, which impact account management and PIMCO.

This position requires an analytical, detailed professional who can:

· Accurately and efficiently prepare client reports spanning performance, trading activity, portfolio valuation and risk metrics

· Continually build an understanding of underlying market factors to complete more qualitative and complex investment analyses

· Efficiently utilize tools such as Excel spreadsheets, macros, query tools, and external databases

· Analyze portfolio data including qualitative and quantitative performance attribution

· Handle ongoing automation of reporting requirements and the streamlining of the reporting process

· Professionally communicate with all levels of staff, internal and external

· Utilize effective time management skills to maintain a commitment to quality and attention to detail; ensure that all work is completed accurate and on time

· Foster a sense of teamwork, assisting others when needed/required

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:

Must possess a four-year college degree with a preferred major in Business/Finance, Economics, or Accounting.  Progress toward the CFA designation is a plus.

 

Experience:

One to three years of finance-related experience preferred, ideally in the fixed income, financial services, or accounting industries.  College internships in a financial, client-oriented role will be considered in lieu of employment experience.  Ideal candidates are familiar with fixed income instruments and the economic underpinnings of the fixed income asset class.
