Account Manager - Commercial Real Estate

Job Summary: 

This position assists the Director of Commercial Real Estate and Commercial Real Estate Loan Officers in the administration of existing commercial real estate loan portfolios as well as the process of loan approvals. Responsible for assistance in handling and processing new and renewal business and for maintaining high service standards. The Account Manager should have a full understanding of each relationship assigned to them. Portfolio management may also include risk management and other service needs. The Account Manager may hold an officer title of Assistant Vice President.  This position reports to the Director of Commercial Real Estate.

 

  Responsibilies:

  Assists the Director of Commercial Real Estate and the Commercial Real Estate Loan Officers handling the daily 

  activities for a portfolio of commercial real estate loans including customer contact, financial statements, exceptions, renewals, extensions, credit reviews.

Handles, manages, services and retains accounts on an ongoing basis.

Pays specific attention to financial data, credit administration, exception and risk management.  Maintains and enhances knowledge of pertinent lending and risk management issues and information that is useful for the lenders and support staff.

Works with credit analysts in the development and analysis of an approval package for commercial real estate loans, making company visits.

Assures proper usage of technology for the benefit of customers and divisional lending personnel.

Acts as team player with Director of Commercial Real Estate, Senior Lenders and staff.

Believes in and promotes the Commerce culture, both internally and externally.

Responsible along with the Team Leader for continuing education and development.

 

 Requirements: 

Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent work experience required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.

Minimum of 2+ years relevant commercial real estate lending/credit experience.

Relationship management experience necessary as well as strong credit skills and ability and experience to underwrite loans, works with customers and bank staff.

Good Understanding of technology and systems available in the Lending environment.

Successful completion of Commerce Commercial MDA Program and/or continued development of skills in credit analysis and loan operations at Commerce.

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication ability and organizational skills.

Excellent interpersonal customer service skills.

Must possess a strong ability to work with customers, lenders and support staff, must be a team player.
