Accountant

School Employees Credit Union of Washington is a $600 million credit union serving educators in Washington.  We do business with our members primarily in electronic format.  We seek a knowledgeable and experienced Accountant to join our team of professionals.

 

Our ideal candidate has 2 years experience in accounting with a solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).  Experience in financial institutions is a plus, BA degree in Accounting also preferred.  We seek an individual with good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.  Must also have strong computer skills using Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.  Symitar (Episys) background is a plus.

 

This position will be responsible for:

* Maintaining Fixed Assets and Prepaid Expenses

* Reconciling general ledgers and bank accounts

* Handling dormant corporate/cashiers checks

* Processing foreign drafts

* Balancing Cash Flows

* Preparing various tax returns for the Credit Union

* Compiling the Profitability Analysis Report for the management team

* Processing Federal Backup Withholding (945) Taxes

* Other duties as assigned
