Agricultural Economist/Securities Analyst



2006 launched 5 billion+ USD global agribusiness fund (long only - hedge fund). The world’s largest global agribusiness fund based in NYC operating on a global basis investing in global agribusiness securities is looking to expand its analytical resources. Looking for agricultural economist/securities analyst, PhD level preferred, to become an integral part of the investment management team, identifying investment opportunities derived from global agricultural developments.



Responsibilities include an understanding of:

Infrastructure bottlenecks



Crop yield enhancement trends



Agricultural land assessment including soil quality and pricing



Irrigation infrastructure



Protein supply and demand trends



Aquaculture



Supply chain management and distribution



Sustainable farming



Trade-flows including trade barriers and non-tariff barriers



Economic and modeling skills



Team emphasizes primary data collection ability



Willingness to conduct research on a global level, collect primary data and develop gainful relationships in global agribusiness communities

Requirements include: Advanced Degree in a related discipline, with previous experience in agribusiness related research.
