We also manage to keep a sense of humor along the way.  So if you’re ready for WaMu, read on!  The purpose of the Asset Specialist Job Family is to monitor Real Estate Owned (REO) properties to ensure appropriate oversight and management of pre-marketing process.  These positions are responsible for ensuring property is secured and protected to ensure no loss to value. Property responsibility for Asset Specialists is valued at an average of $5M to $6M worth of assets at any one time. Essential Job functions:  Manage the new inventory of properties and ensure they are properly assigned to the correct supplier.  Specialists are assigned to a supplier to assist in management of supplier relationship and ensure SLA’s are met. Monitoring of redemption, evictions and ensuring property preservation is completed timely and accurately.  Monitor any insurance claim follow-up ensuring WaMu receives appropriate payout on any claim. Ensure trash-out process is completed and approve any costs exceeding delegated authority level of $2500. Judgment of costs should always ensure that WaMu’s best interests are foremost. Approve or deny any repair cost and valuations of property to ensure WaMu obtains maximum returns on the assets while handling costs are kept at a minimum.  The incumbent is also responsible to perform other duties assigned by management.  Daily monitoring of workload to ensure properties are meeting standard timelines. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. High School diploma or GED required. Minimun 2 years experience preferably in default loss mitigation or foreclosure. 2 years of experience or equivalent years and education preferred. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to make good judgment decisions/recommendations. Excellent analytical skills and must be detail oriented Must be able to review and understand property inspections, appraisals and invoices.
