Assistant Compliance Officer

The Compliance department located at the corporate office in Greenway Plaza is recruiting for an Assistant Compliance Officer to perform paralegal research and administrative support for the Compliance Officers.

 

Paralegal certification required.  Candidate must be extremely flexible as this position works under tight deadlines and overtime will be required, some times with very little notice.

 

Responsibilities:Assist department personnel in development of new or revised policies, procedures, advertisements, forms, system changes and new product/features; verify compliance with state/federal regulations/laws prior to implementation; monitor for continuing compliance.Review and monitor contents of Compliance Manuals to verify compliance with state/federal regulations/laws.Review regulatory communications to ensure appropriate distribution and follow up.Prepare, distribute and follow up on Due Date Calendar to ensure all regulatory reports are filed in a timely manner.Conduct quarterly compliance reviews; provide support for Compliance Department staff in all aspects of Bank’s Compliance Program.Assist with internal and external compliance audits and site examinations by federal regulatory agencies.Assist department personnel in resolution of “non-standard” customer issues (i.e., legal issues/exception requests for loan applications, processing and closings, title changes, bankruptcies and foreclosures, etc.)Perform in-house regulatory/legal research.Provide administrative support for SVP and Compliance Department staff.Assist in preparation of monthly board books and minutes; coordinate board and committee meetings.Assist with trademark filing and maintaining for Bank and affiliates.Assist with responses for summons, subpoenas, litigation, etc.Coordinate contract administration for all corporate contacts; coordinate assignment of contract review and maintain log and database.

Qualifications:Paralegal certification requiredBachelors degreeMinimum two years related experienceExperience in regulatory researchGood written and oral communication; organizational and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of legal terminology and principlesAbility to prioritize and work under tight scheduleAbility to effective communicate with customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business communityAdvanced computer skillsStable job history
