Assistant Trader

MDT Advisers is currently seeking a bright and energetic individual to join its Investment Team as Assistant Trader.

 

We are an innovative quantitative investment management firm located in Boston. Founded in 1988, we manage in excess of $8 billion, offering a wide array of U.S. equity investment strategies to individuals and institutions through institutional accounts, managed accounts, and mutual funds. MDT Advisers is a Federated Advisory Company. Our parent, Federated Investors, Inc., is one of the nation’s largest investment managers.

 

Responsibilities for this position:

 

·  Coordinate and monitor daily trading flow for all of MDT’s equity strategies.

 

·  Execute orders on multiple trading platforms, interact with sell-side brokers, and schedule trade rotations based on liquidity and time constraints.

 

·  Work illiquid and small cap orders, seeking best execution.

 

·  Participate in the Investment Team’s morning trade review and approval process.

 

·  Work with the Operations Team to resolve trading issues and process special trading requests.

 

·  Research current trends in equity exchanges and trading technology.

 

A successful candidate will have:

 

·  A bachelor's degree with an outstanding record of academic achievement.

 Significant coursework in disciplines including finance, economics, mathematics, and statistics.

 Ability to multi-task and complete complex tasks under pressure.

 

·  Exceptional attention to detail.

 

·  Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

·  Experience working in the investment industry preferred.
