BATCH OPERATIONS ANALYST

All Applicants Must Have A Minimum Of 3 Years It Industry Experience In Order To Apply.  No 3rd Party Resumes Accepted.  TITLE:Batch Operations Analyst Location:  Wilmington DE and Colorado Springs, CO Duration:  6+months POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for batch and file transmission monitoring and support. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work with a highly energetic and dynamic team supporting batch and file transmission in a fast-pace operations environment.  This position requires a detail oriented individual who will be responsible for the timely monitoring, support and processing of all production batch and file transmissions, and participation in the change management process while ensuring timely delivery of production data to meet service level agreements.  Successful candidates will have a solid technical understanding of batch and file processing and concepts, a strong work ethic, motivation to grow and succeed and be prepared to get the job done. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Understands the importance of Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Operational Level Agreements (OLA) and meeting those guidelines. • Proactively monitor daily production batch and file transmissions for potential failures and delays. • Execute and re-run batch and file transmissions when necessary. • Respond to alert monitoring and provide escalation when necessary. • Interact with 2nd level support groups and upper management and assists them with problem resolution and recovery. • Responsible for identifying problems as they occur and work with management to ensure change management process is followed. • Responsible for following operational and change management procedures for the processing and support of all batch and file transmission. • Support departmental reporting metrics. • Participate in turnover with Batch Operations Engineering and Development for all new assigned production jobs prior to each release. • Maintain the shift-turnover report as part of the shift change process. • Documents all request and information in Service Desk ticket application. • Must be able to work defined shift-hours and provide rotational on-call support for non-shift hours (weekends and evenings). • Must have ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. • Other assignments as required.   QUALIFICATIONS: • Working knowledge of batch scheduling packages (Control-M, CA7, TWS). • Knowledge of common Unix commands and basic TCP/IP networking concepts. • Prior experience in a Data Center environment preferred. • Strong communication, customer service, organizational skills, and strong troubleshooting skills are a must. • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and or various shift rotations as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:• Highly motivated, energetic, thorough, detail-oriented, with ability to multi-task effectively. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Excellent oral and written communications skills. • Very strong organizational, task management and prioritization skills. • Ability to display strong sense of urgency, with an understanding of service level agreements. • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced, dynamic environment. • Ability to interactively troubleshoot file transfers using a variety of protocols (i.e. ftp, ssh, sftp, ceftp, and Connect Direct). • Ability to work well with peers and all levels of management. • Relevant UNIX systems operations experience (Solaris a plus). • Knowledge of Datastage/ETL, ConnectDirect, ConnectEnterprise, Control-M platforms a plus.  • Strong interpersonal skills • B.S. in Computer Science or related subject a plus.
