BUSINESS COORDINATOR - CUSTODY

The Business Coordinator-Custody bears direct management responsibility for the conversion of new custody business and acquisitions, in addition to supervising the daily control of assets, both physical and book entry, being received or delivered for trust and agency accounts outside the trading function. The Business Coordinator works very closely with administration, BNY, external custodians and brokers and the client to ensure that proper assets are moved in a timely manner and that income to which the account is entitled will be received.QualificationsIndustry/Working knowledge of various security types: repos, equities, fixed income, mortgage backed, etc.Ability to interpret rules/regulations of SEC, STA and other governing transfer practices, applying them appropriately based on legal status of transferor and Trust’s capacity on the account.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate information clearly and concisely, negotiate appropriate solutions with both internal and external contacts.Drafts professional business correspondence on regular basis.Excellent organizational skills, ability to plan and coordinate movement of large volumes of transactions, ability to improve efficiency, track complex activities and improve methodology.Must demonstrate previous experience in independently solving complex problems, identifying appropriate resources.Working knowledge of mainframe processes, good PC skills.Proficient with word processing and worksheet applications in producing business correspondence and reports.This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate’s Degree in a business related field and 3-4 year’s experience in the security industry or 6 -7 years equivalent work experience in securities processing. Previously held securities license (series 6 or series 7) preferred.
