Bankruptcy Specialist I  Primary Responsibilities Include:·  Mitigating loss and legal risk for Countrywide and its Investors by accurately managing the Bankruptcy process·  Obtaining relief from bankruptcy on non-performing loans  ·  Communicating with Attorneys, court-appointed Trustees and Mortgagors·  Answering questions related to the Bankruptcy file·  Ensuring that Countrywide's business objectives are not compromised·  Handling a limited portfolio size of Bankruptcy Loans in accordance with Investor, state, Government Agency and Bankruptcy Code guidelines·  Ensuring that all cash items are applied·  Ensuring that all ledgers are balanced and accurate·  Responding to phone calls and written correspondence from all parties involved in the Bankruptcy process·  Reading and interpreting all legal documents (i.e. pleading motions, dockets, loan documents, etc.)·  Reading and interpreting Borrower/Trustee, Investor and Attorney correspondence·  Determining when Attorney action, advice and/or interpretation is needed·  Processing new filings and correctly closing loans out of Bankruptcy·  Ensuring that Countrywide's interests are protected and that, upon termination of the stay, processes are appropriately and timely continued·  Determining Bankruptcy statuses·  Moving loans to the next stage in the Bankruptcy process   A Successful Candidate Will Have:·  High school diploma, GED or equivalent·  1-2 years of Mortgage Servicing experience·  Strong verbal and written communication skills·  PC skills—including (but not limited to) proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access·  Effective organizational skills·  Ability to perform basic mathematical functions—including entry-level ability to balance and reconcile funds·  Ability to multi-task in a high-volume Production environment·  Entry-level decision-making and problem-solving skills   The Ideal Candidate May Also Possess:·  College degree·  Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)   Countrywide is committed to leveraging the talent of a diverse workforce to create great opportunities for our business and our people.
