Builder-Mortgage Loan Counselor

Shea Mortgage is currently looking for a Loan Counselor who will be responsible for covering several Builder-Sales communities and managing loan transactions from initiation to closing.  Loan Counselor will ensure customer's understanding and satisfaction, while consulting buyers about the loan program which best meets their needs after a thorough assessment of the individual client’s income, assets, credit and long term goals.  The position requires maintaining a competitive edge by consistently seeking to remain apprised of changes within the industry.  Knowledge of loan programs and guidelines is imperative.  FHA, VA and Cal HFA knowledge is a must.  Participation in sales meetings, pre-construction meetings and training is expected.Clear and ongoing communication must be maintained at all times between the Sales Counselor, Homebuyer, Loan Processor and Management to ensure a seamless transaction for all Customers, internal and external.This position entails a unique ability to sell in an honest and creative way. Organizational skills are of the utmost importance in seeking to establish and maintain priorities to ensure maximum productivity.The Loan Counselor needs to be self-motivated and driven to help the Branch to succeed in meeting all established goals.  TEAMwork is key to being successful in this position.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Meet with homebuyers to complete loan applications and review loan programs.Discuss prequalification and program option with Borrowers.Meet with Sales Counselors to review loan status and build strong, high trust relationships.Input complete and accurate loan applications in the system.Lock Customers and communicate rates effectively.
