Business Loan Underwriter II

Position Title:Business Loan Underwriter II Reports to:  Navy Federal Credit Union, the World Largest Credit Union located in Vienna, Virginia is looking for a professional with extensive experience working in a Business Loan environment as a Small Business Loan Underwriter. Job description and requirements are below:Description:To underwrite SBA and non SBA business loans, oversee and collect supporting underwriting information, analyze financial statements, using both a credit scoring model, and traditional underwriting methods to support credit structuring appropriate to a variety of credit products. Presents loan packages for approval to senior management, disburse funds as required, and monitor subsequent financial information of approved business borrowers. Provides service and problem resolution for all business service and lending members.Required:* Knowledge of laws and regulations governing business and consumer lending and collections practices * Working knowledge of the means of collecting supporting information for the underwriting of business loans and the factors/metrics that go into properly evaluating the risks associated with different types of businesses * Basic understanding of underwriting principles and concepts * Ability in using Microsoft Word and Excel or related software applications * Excellent organizational skills * Skill in working in a multi-task working environment * Ability to work independently and in a team environment * Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills * Ability to maintain composure, poise, and patience when dealing with personnelDesired:* MBA in Finance, Marketing, Economics, Business Administration and/or Accounting * Credit union industry experience * Knowledge of SBA 7(a); 504; and Express program underwriting guidelines * Completion of a certificate in commercial lending or formal credit training that includes commercial credit analysis experience in a banking/financial services environment * Skill with Moody¿s Financial Analyst, fisCAL or similar business lending underwriting toolIf interested, please apply online @ www.navyfederal.org
