COMM - Sr. Datastage Architect / Designer COMM - Sr. Datastage Architect / Designer CGI is currently seeking a senior DataStage Architect/Designer who can contribute to the design, prototype, and testing of applications focused on Business Intelligence and Analytical applications.The candidate will be expected to collaborate with project teams and members through the development, testing and production process, using an iterative methodology.The Position Description and Responsibilities Include:• Extensive experience (5 years +) of application development using Datastage• Develop detailed statement of requirements for proposed solutions.• Analyze functional requirements to identify information, procedures and decision flows.• Evaluate existing procedures and methods, identifies and documents database content, structure, and application sub-systems, and develops data dictionary.• Define input/output sources, including detail plan for technical design phase, and obtain approval of the system proposal.• Design and document all system components, their interfaces and operational environment.• Design data structures and files, sub-systems and modules, programs, batch, on line, and production monitoring procedures, testing strategy and systems.• Develop and maintain complex system and modules, programs, sub-systems, system and procedures, analyze performance and tunes system, and complete system documentation.The candidate MUST possess the following set of skills:• Experience in DataStage, DataStage EE, Quality Stage and MetaStage. • Experience in Windows 2003 and UNIX• Familiar with DB2 and Sybase• Business Intelligence and Analytical application concepts and product experience.The required set of Key Deliverables for the candidate will be to:• Mentor and lead client ETL designers • Develop and implement ETL design and coding guidelines• Implement ETL Best Practices With 26,500 professionals, CGI is one of the largest independent information technology services firms in North America, providing end-to-end IT services and business solutions to clients worldwide.
