Central Operations Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Responsible for the supervision of associates and activities of the Central Operations Department.  This includes but is not limited to the oversight in the areas of ACH, checking, payment, payroll, court orders and card processing; researching fraud and non-fraud related dispute cases; establishing and maintaining card accounts; presentment of ideas and/or tools to help reduce fraud exposure; analysis and implementation of technology and automation to improve workflow efficiency, cost control and enhanced member service. SPECIFIC DUTIES  Effectively manage the staff within the Central Operations Department.  Maintain department attendance records; approve associates requests for time off ensuring adequate department coverage during business hours.  Responsible for preparation and delivery of associate’s annual reviews as well as any disciplinary action, if needed.   Have working knowledge of rules and regulations specifically related to all responsibilities of the Central Operations Department.    Develop performance targets for key measures of member service quality and reliability; service enhancements, associate and self-development; and productivity and work process improvements.  Take primary responsibility for all back office operations including check inclearings, check returns, ACH, IRA accounts, subpoenas and levies, payroll processing, and other back office operational duties as further defined.  Oversee the setup and maintenance of Visa Debit Cards, ATM Cards, and Visa Gift Cards.  Assist Card Processing associates in processing when necessary to ensure timeliness of set-up and delivery of MemberFirst Service.  Utilize technology and automation to improve operating efficiencies, lower costs and enhance member service.  Continuously analyze all operational processes to determine best practices for the department.  Ensure department telephone “hotline” is continuously answered in a timely manner.  Resolve complex problems and act as liaison regarding member inquiries  Ensure insurance claims are filed in a timely manner for fraud losses not recovered.  Utilize multiple systems and critical applications necessary to properly maintain member accounts.  These systems include, but are not limited to, TCCUS, the Fed Line, Word, PAS, and Excel.  Ensure compliance with the organization’s requirements for information protection by maintaining confidentiality and security of credit union and member information. Study the latest fraud prevention tools and present ideas and/or tools to reduce fraud exposure to credit union.  Ensure all department projects are completed in a timely manner.  Ensure compliance with the organization’s requirements for information protection by maintaining confidentiality and security of credit union and member information.   Ensure reports are reviewed to identify suspicious activity on check card accounts and contact members to verify activity.  Oversee the research and analysis of member claims due to suspicious and fraudulent Check Card transactions, ATM transactions, as well as non-fraud related claims. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of two (2) years of supervisor experience.  Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in a friendly, clear and courteous manner, using correct English grammar.  Technologically proficient.  Excellent writing skills.  Ability to multi-task.  Punctual.  Ability to work on projects independently after receiving initial instructions and periodic review.  Ability to complete projects in a timely manner.  Analytical skills.  Training acumen.  Must demonstrate a cooperative, supportive and enthusiastic attitude in relations with both internal and external members.  Customer Service experience preferred.  EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS A.A. degree; B.A./B.S preferred.     Company: Xceed Financial Credit Union Location: El Segundo, CA 90245 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Business/Strategic Management Occupations: General/Other: Business/Strategic Management Relevant Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Industry: Banking Company: Xceed Financial Credit Union
