THE ROLE:
The Chief Administrative Officer of HomeTrust Bank leads the Company’s Organizational and Human Capital strategies. With a highly profitable and operationally outstanding business at its core, HomeTrust Bank is pursuing a long- term strategy of growth and diversification. This position is responsible for the development and execution of enterprise-wide human capital strategies and serves on the leadership team for HomeTrust Bank. This individual provides thought leadership, vision and innovation in human resources that is responsive to the evolving needs of a growing business. As a critical business partner to the President/Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Administrative Officer also acts as a key partner to other executive team members, and plays a leading role in the development of the company’s strategic plan.
STRATEGIC ACTIVITIES:
• Member of the HomeTrust Bank executive team (Strategic Operating Committee)
• Partnership and acquisition due diligence and integration.
• Provides support for the Compensation Committee and Board of Directors.
• Champions Mission and Culture -- Driving the HomeTrust Bank culture of high performance, execution, continuous improvement and believing in people.
• Maintains the Bank’s high ethical, communication and employee engagement standards and culture.
• Creates an open and dynamic environment that facilitates excellent communication both to and from executive management and all employees of the bank.
HUMAN RESOURCES RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strategy development and execution in the areas of talent management, executive compensation, salary administration plan, and retirement plans (total rewards).
• Research, prepare, present, win management consensus of, and implement a multi-year plan and budget for the management of the Human Resources of the Bank that is consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget.
• Ensure HR systems meet the growing needs of the bank.
• Forecast staffing needs based on best practice benchmarks.
• Develop and implement Incentive Plans to support the Strategic Plan of the Bank.
• Organizational design and development based on best practices.
• Talent and performance management including the sourcing, development, and retention of “High Career Potential” level talent to build the organizations bench strength.
• Set and ensure the efficient execution of the Bank’s strategy and tactics for Training and Development bank-wide.
• Succession planning bank-wide.
• Healthcare cost containment – shifting the culture to benefit education, wellness and disease prevention.
• Governance and governmental compliance.
• Achievement of all budgetary objectives.
• Leadership, coaching and mentoring to develop the human resources team and overall quality of the function.
• Coordinate hiring and management of any outside HR and Benefit consultants and firms.
• Payroll audits.
• Payroll edit approvals.
OVERSEE FACILITIES AND PURCHASING DEPARTMENTS:
• Facilities Strategic Planning.
• Branch Locations/Design/Construction.
• Purchase of Supplies and general office equipment.
OTHER:
• Serve as Bank’s representative on the NC Banker’s MEWA (group insurance plan).
• Assist Chairman/CEO and President with overall Board Governance
• Board evaluations.
• Board and Committee Charters.
• Board and Committee meetings activities.
• External Board meetings and educational activities .
• Bank’s corporate insurance plans (D&O, Fiduciary, Bond and Property and Casualty insurance).
• Political Action efforts (emails, PAC, etc).
• Acts as internal consultant to the Management Team, working at all organizational levels.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate for this position will be an experienced human resources executive with a demonstrated track record of success. The ideal candidate will possess the following credentials:
• A bachelors degree from a four year accredited college or university (M.B.A. or advanced degree a plus).
• A minimum of 15 years of broad and progressive strategic generalist human resources experience. Ideally, some of this experience will have been gained with a $1Billion - $5Billion Financial Services organization recognized for best practices in human resources, yet augmented by time spent in a smaller environment with direct Board-level accountability.
• Knowledge of strategic human resources processes including talent management, recruiting, performance management, compensation, organizational development, compliance and employee relations.
• Long-term experience working with senior-level executives with proven ability to influence across the organization.
• Demonstrated change management leadership in an organization experiencing growth and business transformation.
• Experience translating vision and strategy into actionable goals, priorities and challenges.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• Candidates should have significant experience leading mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
• Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
• Ability to build commitment and obtain consensus.
